I got a keyboard like this one with the Mac Pro. It’s tiny, and it allowed me to reclaim what felt like acres of desk space. I’ve used it since I got the Pro, about three months ago, and I have really really tried to like it. It is just too small – I keep mis-hitting the keys even after all this time.

So this morning, I fetched out my Matias Tactile Pro, cleaned it (shock horror!) and perlmonger plugged it back in for me, for I am just a gurly and don’t do computery things. And lo, peace is restored. A rather clacky peace, to be sure, but it’s *so* nice to have it back.

So perlmonger fitted the new security beam things yesterday, and then when I was in the bath I heard the warning chime go. I called him and got no reply, so I assumed it was him.

But when I went downstairs, they’d taken the laptops and the Wii and the remotes and the cameras and all the DVDs, I ran down the end of the garden and saw one of them running through the field, so I photographed her.

Then I went to find the village bobby* at Angela’s house – they’ve moved to the other side of the road. They had no glass in their front door, and were having some sort of lunch party with the guests sat on rows of chairs like a lecture. David took me into the kitchen and told me not to make a fuss, and that the insurance would pay. The policewoman wasn’t there.

* That’s a giveaway, isn’t it?

more tennis

1 hour 48 minutes last night, and my shoulder hurts this morning. Pushed my skill level up to 584, so pleased with that. Took my fitness age down to 74 (soon it’ll be younger than I am), and ow I think I understand how that works I can get it down quicker, I think.

In other news, one of our sites has been – literally – Slashdotted, so there’ll be an anxious day ahead while we watch that server carefully. Hits Tuesday, 33608, hits Wednesday 679595, first two hours of Thursday, 201772. Fun fun fun.
